Zoe Glencross Fabrics

Updated: Jun 23, 2023

This week in the post I received the latest additions to the Zoe Bee Range by Zoe Glencross and so wanted to give you a short overview of the fabrics and the designer.

These stunning linen fabrics are always a popular choice for curtains & blinds and I love making with their fabrics. The texture of the fabric allows me to create elegant pleats for curtains which hang beautifully, and crisp folds when made up into Roman Blinds.

All of the fabrics are made with a linen base cloth and are printed with designs inspired by nature, but offer something more refined than other floral and leaf prints.

What started off as a passion for lino carving turned into a full time business and when the designer moved from Manchester to the meadows of Cheshire. She says the large skies and local wildlife became her inspiration.

She uses either carved lino or printing screen techniques, but all designs begin as a hand sketched drawing. You can see Zoe's process of working on her instagram @zoeglencross and its fascinating to get a glimpse of the behind the scenes process used to create these stunning fabrics.

There are six collections in total in a range of colour scheme, each of which brings out a different feel to each print. I always find that the brighter colours work so well that they allow you to opt for something brighter than you might normally imagine using, without it looking over the top!

THE COLLECTIONS

Meadowlands Collection

A rural inspired collection which is a modern take on a classic theme, with a contemporary abstract twist, to suit an urban town house just as much as a country cottage. The stripe effect used in some of these designs work fantastically with pleated curtains and are popular to make blinds.

Zoe and Bee Collection

This capsule collection of fabrics has been created by Zoe Glencross with Interior Designer Bee Osborn from Osborn Interiors. The designs are inspured by natural materials, shapes and textures which reflect Bee’s understated style. More fabrics have been added to this collection recently including the green cow parsley print shown in the first photo above.

New Elements Collection

The Elements Collection is described as having "evolved through a reflective design process inspired by nature’s natural elements". Incorporating blues, bold yellows, coral pinks and teals, printed onto linen cloth, the shapes of these designs edge towards softer edges and more rounded shapes.

Adventuras Collection

Inspired by travels to Spain and Portugal, the Aventuras Collection is an evolution of a design style that combines Moorish Mudéjar and Portuguese Azulejo patterning. Colour is central to the collection, embracing warm terracotta, pinky-beige tones, rich ochres, vibrant coastal blues and sharp, punchy apple greens.

Vivre le Reve Collection

A French-inspired range of pure linen fabrics which remind you of a chateau in the french countryside. The designs incorporate leaves and vines reminiscent of sunny vineyards and the rolling French countryside.

Nordic Story

The Nordic Story Collection takes inspiration from travels to Sweden and Denmark, with a bold, contemporary and graphic collection of prints. Developed using the simplest paper-cut silhouette techniques and translating them into lino carved and screen prints. The shapes hint of ice formations and snow flakes.

All Zoe Glencross Fabrics are made in England. The company is committed to improving sustainability and they support global re-forestation through ‘One Tree Planted’.

Zoe glencross offers cushions and lampshades as well as other products made in every beautiful fabric.
